Tight money from lending institutions means that those who could buy earlier can't buy now and are forced to rent. Real estate prices have gone down, but rental prices are going way up, and they'll continue going up until real estate is easy to buy again. We see this constantly in our own dealings. Most of our houses and apartments are rented within a week of their vacancies. We're able to rent out properties just by putting a sign out in front of the property, whereas we used to have to run newspaper and American Classified ads. Just look in your local newspaper and notice how few vacancies are posted now. We've never seen a time like it.
